Maynard, MA – February 24, 2009 - Signal Integrity Software,
Inc. (SiSoft™) today announced that its paper, “A
Simple Via Experiment”, co-authored with Cisco Systems, and presented by
Michael Steinberger, Ph.D., has received a DesignCon 2009 Best Paper Award in
the Board and System Design Category. The paper was one of ten papers chosen from a group of 32
finalists by the DesignCon Technical Program Committee. This year’s technical
program was the largest ever with over 100 papers presented at DesignCon 2009.
“The DesignCon Paper Awards
recognize outstanding contributions to the educational goals of the DesignCon
program,” said Barry Sullivan, DesignCon program director. “Papers are judged
both on the merits of the written document and on the quality of their
presentation at DesignCon.”
“We are thrilled that the IEC
and this year’s DesignCon Technical Program Committee have recognized and
awarded our paper, A Simple Via Experiment,” stated Barry Katz, President and
CTO of SiSoft. “As an exclusive sponsor of the DesignCon InfoVault, SiSoft is
strongly committed to the educational goals of the IEC both at the DesignCon
Conference and in the online community through our continued sponsorship of the
InfoVault.”
Vias play a critical role in
the high frequency electrical behavior of packages and printed circuit boards,
and thus have been the subject of intense study. The paper, “A Simple Via
Experiment”, presents an analytical model for understanding and predicting the
behavior of via structures that has been correlated to lab measurement.
Theoretical, modeled (3-D field solver) and measured data are presented for an
experimental via structure, which has been designed to allow others to repeat
the experiment.
